Craig Hosmer

Craig Hosmer specializes in civil litigation, including personal injury and products liability cases. Craig graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and received his law degree from George Washington University School of Law in Washington, D.C. Craig is a former State Representative from Springfield, served as Governor Jay Nixon'scampaign treasurer and currently serves as the State Party Chair of the Missouri Democratic Party.

Craig was the son of a local attorney and was drawn toward the legal profession by an attorney's ability to help individuals solve complex problems. Mr. Hosmer enjoys most the rapport he establishes with each client he represents, as well as the satisfaction that comes with bringing their cases to a successful conclusion. In addition to his activity as senior partner of the firm, Craig also sits on the Missouri Veterans' Cemetery Board and is a member the Ozarks Health Advocacy Board.

 

Stuart King 

stuart kingStuart King became an attorney to deal with new, interesting and diverse issues on a daily basis. Stuart specializes in jury trials. He also has a background in business, which gives him the ability to approach legal questions with the knowledge and pragmatism of a businessman. Stuart enjoys the challenge of fighting for his clients in a trial setting and feels most rewarded when he can use his legal knowledge and experience to successfully represent his clients or to mentor young attorneys. Stuart believes that his firm's outstanding ability and willingness to try tough and complicated cases sets Hosmer King & Royce apart from other firms in the area.

Stuart focuses his practice in civil litigation with an emphasis on business litigation, personal injury and products liability cases.  Stuart graduated from Missouri State University with  Bachelor of Science degrees in both Economics and Finance. Stuart graduated from the University of Missouri- Kansas City Law School with honors and was the Editor of the UMKC Law Review.    

Rick Royce

Rick Royce specializes in family law and domestic relations, including dissolutions, paternity, guardianship, adoption and juvenile law.  Rick graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and received his law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law.  Rick served as a Major in the United States Marine Corps from October 10, 1983 to May 1, 2006.

Rick was the son of a small town doctor and always admired the positive effect he had upon the entire community by practicing his profession for those who need it. Rick says the practice of law allows him to combine the elements of professionalism his father displayed with his fascination for the legal system. Having been a divorced father himself, Rick became very sympathetic to what parents go through in raising children during difficult times. Rick believes that every parent is noteworthy for the effect they have on our society's future. 

Andy Hosmer

 Andy Hosmer specializes in criminal defense, including traffic, DWIs, misdemeanors and felonies.  He also handles juvenile matters and civil litigation.  Andy graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and received his law degree from New York University School of Law. Andy is a founding member of the Greene County 100 Club, a not-for-profit organization that provides benefits to the families of firefighters and law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.  Andy also serves as a member of the Springfield R-XII Board of Education.

James Owen

james owenJames Owen specializes in estate planning, guardianship and real estate law.  James graduated from Drury University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Political Science, a minor in Economics and received his law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law.

James is a native of Webster County and wanted to be an attorney to deal with new, interesting issues on a daily basis and to have the ability to help individuals with important legal matters. James finds motivation in his desire to help his clients with their most pressing needs in the area of estate planning. He feels motivated to provide legal security and sound advice to his clients, many of whom are struggling with emotionally stressful legal situations. James hopes not only to seek his clients' best legal interest, but to provide peace of mind to his clients as well. James believes that the tenacity of this firm separates it from others in the area. He feels Hosmer King & Royce has the resources of a much larger firm, but the willingness to take on tough cases. When not working at the office, James can be seen on KY3 as their current movie critic or serving the community on the Springfield Environmental Advisory Board.
